Symbols used in the painting of Sohrab killed by Rostam (case study of Shahnameh 1028 AH Walters Museum)

Abstract

Symbolism as one of the tools of visual expression of the transfer of concepts, has been able to bring many works of Iranian painting closer in form and meaning.Findings from library studies show that the painting in question consists of prominent effects that with various symbolic features, maintain their relationship with tangible reality, in other words, the Iranian painter using the valuable context of the symbolic poetry of Shahnameh and , the concepts of Iranian wisdom and Islamic mysticism, by different features, have brought visual elements with different functions, and provide connections and connections with intangible meanings and concepts in the space of images with symbolic arrangements.
