Passeur Theory
Abstract
By and large, the passeur – or smuggler – tends to be a sad figure. A by-product of closure immigration policies, he acts as a parasitical creature that exploits the fallacies of mobility regimes in place. The passeur installs himself in an ecological niche from which a marginal advantage can be extracted, acting as a service provider of illicit transportation against prescribed immobility.
