Article Highlights The study shows that it is possible to manufacture tools from glass and glass-ceramic for machining by grinding. Glass tools are suitable for machining plastic, glass ceramic tools can be used for machining plastic and aluminum. Glass ceramic tools could represent an alternative to common tool materials. More research is needed.
