The effect of Islamic decorative arts on the formation of glass arts by pâte de verrè
Abstract
Islamic art is one of the most important sources of Islamic Civilization. Islamic Art is an expressive language that connects the spirit of the Islamic nation together. Expressing their culture, creative aspirations and values of high-end within different spatial and temporal limits, Islamic art has the uniqueness of many of the characteristics that is considered an advantage from other types of art, which gave it a special implications of sensory and metaphysical that it is known by, which has been influenced by the previous Islamic art and combined it to reform an art which includes general features and characteristic that are mainly dependent on the modification and abstraction. Despite the spread of the Islamic state from the east to the west, however it could be argued that the art across the regions with a wide of rang have collected major characteristics and gives a unique feature in spite of the technical and physical difference. The Islamic decorative arts (geometric and floral motifs and writings) is the most important creative and technical aspects, which includes the gloss and distinct aesthetic philosophy that influenced Western art and was a source of renewal and innovation in a variety of technical areas. Pate de verre technique in which is a Reconfiguration of glass to form an image with a variety of products. Which goes back to ancient Egyptian times and Mesopotamia to form a group of pieces of art, jewellery and amulets glass, and continued the technique until the first century BC, where it showed that this technique has not been used after the formation of the glass blowing technique appearance, until it was revived by French artist "Henry Cross 1840 -1907 "; where the technology began to spread form a variety of glass products with an artistic nature. Although, the evolution of art in the current era, but it can be still used and adapted with the Islamic art style, by using methods that are appropriate to draw inspiration from Islamic style, elements and values of aesthetic arts, to give the style another dimension and opens the horizon to welcome many new aesthetic products that carries on the Islamic heritage culture. Thus, the research problem is the lack of the basics products to use for the re-formation of glass, in which will fit then artistic products (flat and three-dimensional) derived from Islamic decorative arts using the elements and the basics of composition and aesthetics. Search attempts to achieve its objective by shedding light on the Islamic decorative arts of all kinds and the most important characteristics, as well as to study the basics of composition in re-melting glass granules technology in the context of their suitability for the most important attributes of Islamic decorative arts, Research also achieves its results to substantiate that it can make use of the Islamic decorative arts in the formation of different glass products, Pâte de verrè technique - achieved the diversity of aesthetic and functional performance and confirms the ability of Islamic art as a never-ending source of ideas and techniques that will remain a source of contemporary art.
