During the kingdom of Aaditya Karigala Cholan, there were around Forty Holy Thirupathis in the Chola regime out of 108 Vaishnava Holy Scripts. Prof. N. Subbu Reddiar in his book elicits about the importance of Holy Thirupathis, the specialities of the temples, the architectural design of the temples, the significant beauty of Perumal, the melody of Mangala Saasanam sung by the Alwars and their worship. In this research paper, the study is specific to the Holy Thirupathis of the Chola regime, which magnifies the inherent and boundless affection rendered by Alwars to Perumal. The Alwars' devotion to the lord and the sweet melodies sung by them has been gathered through the book “Oorum Perum”. Further, it had been the customary practice of Alwars to visit the temples and praise the Lord Vishnu shows their devotion to reach Perumal. With this miraculous power, Thirumazhaisai Alwar made the king marry the lady. The importance of the faith of Vaishnavism is popularly envisioned with the spiritual adherence to Perumal by the Twelve Alwars. When Karmega Kannan visits the place, the young girls of the place who has attained maturity attract him with melodious and romantic songs. Krishna’s magical tune in dancing style on the forehead of “Five Headed Serpent” (Kaarkodak) and protecting the Aayarpadi people by lifting the mountain “Kovarthan” and also killing the female monster had been the greatest wonders of Krishna and the alwars sing of these chivalric actions through their melodious songs. Consequently, the collection of hymns and melody songs was compiled into a series of 4000 songs called “Nalayira Divya Prapantham” sung by Alwars. The divine respect for Perumal by Periyalwar can be seen through the wedlock of Aandal with Perumal. Aandal became popular as Goddess, thereby attaining glory with Perumal. Hence, Perumal is glorified by the incarnation of Archavathara through the observations of Subbu Reddiar based on the Thirupathis flourished at the times of the Chola Regime. The article elaborates on the ideas of Reddiar on the holy Thirupathis at the time of the Chola regime.
