Postwar Soviet literary studies (the end of the 1940’s and 80’s of the 20th century) differed significantly from the diaspora, since it often resembled a purely ideological pro-communist propaganda and distorted the present historical process of the development of Ukrainian literature. Unfortunately, most of the soviet Ukrainian literary critics were forced through the prism of the ideology of the communist regime to tendentiously cover the historical and modern literary processes, because every free thought, any independent position of the scientist, which did not coincide with the communist-soviet instructions, was immediately subjected to obstruction, rigorously censored and subjected to devastating criticism, and even instant and brutal repression of party officials from literature. Therefore, in this difficult time for the free Ukrainian science, the diaspora literary critics of the free world began to struggle with the falsification of the history of Ukrainian literature, distorted processes of its development in the modern world, role and place among other world literatures. Interesting figures were Bogdan Kravtsiv and Luka Lutsiv, who acted in defense in the authentic history of Ukrainian literature, and especially contemporary Ukrainian artists, who were forced to live and create in the USSR-USSR. The theme of the ideological battle for the authors was the “Svoboda” newspaper and the “Almanac of the Ukrainian National Association”. The article covers the topics and issues of journalistic and literary works of representatives of Ukrainian diaspora literature B. Kravtsiv’s and L. Lutsiv’s. The methodological principles of scientific works of these researchers in the emigration period, namely during the work in the “Almanac of the Ukrainian National Association”, are outlined. The journalistic and literary works of B. Kravtsiv and L. Lutsiv on the pages of the “Almanac of the Ukrainian National Association” testify to the high professionalism and cultural consciousness of the authors, observance of moral and spiritual principles in coverage of important stages and figures in the history of Ukrainian literature and culture in general. The discourse of literary critics in this publication is marked by ethical principles. They carefully and impartially monitors the literary novelties, while protecting the authentic history of Ukrainian literature and the Ukrainian language from the falsifications of the official soviet science. In addition, both of them show professional competence, becoming in front of the readers persuasive polemists.
