doi: 10.12957/geouerj.2017.28327 The Ibiapaba has gaps in its natural history and, therefore, there is a need for greater knowledge about its geomorphological evolution. An important step to fill this gap is the knowledge of the geological-tectonic structuring of the region and the morphostructural processes recorded during the Cretaceous, which are fundamental to the current geomorphological context. Thus, the main objective of this work is to analyze the processes associated with the pre-Cretaceous regional morphostructural evolution in the Ibiapaba geomorphology in its northern portion of the state of Ceará. Methodologically, the theoretical assumptions of geomorphological science were used, with emphasis on morphostructural analysis. Technically, the methodological contingent relied on the cabinet stages, with detailed and careful bibliographical and cartographic surveys, in the field surveys and in the integrated analysis of all the data in the laboratory stage, with emphasis on the thematic mappings of Ibiapaba and region.
