Influence Mechanism of Kunming Metro Station Built Environment on Passenger Flow Based on the Comparison between Working Days and Rest Days

[Objective]In order to study the influence mechanism of metro station built environment on the passenger flow of the station, taking metro stations in Kunming city as the example, the influence mechanism of station built environment on the passenger flow from different sources on working days and rest days is analyzed. [Method]Using Kunming Rail Transit AFC (automatic fare collection) card swiping data and POI (point of interface) data, the passenger flow of the stations is subdivided into generated passenger flow and attracted passenger flow two types. On this basis, daily variation characteristics and spatial visualization analysis are conducted, and influence mechanism models of working days and rest days on different passenger flow types are established. [Result & Conclusion]The results show that high passenger flow attraction stations are concentrated in the main city area and new town center, and high passenger flow generation stations are distributed in the near and far suburbs of the city. The influence mechanism of station built environment on passenger flow is significantly related to passenger flow characteristics. Land use dominance degree has an inhibitory effect on passenger flow generation but a promoting effect on passenger flow attraction; while the constrained facilities and bus network density only have a significant influence on passenger flow attraction; road network density and leisure facilities have different degrees of influence on the generation and attraction of passenger flow. With the time change from working days to rest days, the influence of land use dominance degree on passenger flow generation disappears, while the influence of bus network density on passenger flow attraction begins to appear.
