La coopération danubienne. Le fleuve, support d'intégration européenne? Tour d'horizon géo-historique et pistes de réflexions
Abstract
The Danube River Co-operation: the River as a support for European integration? A geo historical approach. As a pan European river, flowing from Germany through the Black Sea, the Danube and its area are major for European geopolitics. In this text the origins and the political influences of the Danube River Cooperation are analysed, showing the key role of new actors, more particularly of the European Union. The EU Strategy for the Danube River aims at resolving some of the different geo historical problems of this area. It offers at the same time a new framework for cooperation. At the end, by changing scales from meso to macro, the text shows some guidelines for re-enhancing the co-operations: building at the Danube River Basin scale a common space for its inhabitants!
