This article explores the history and impressive production of the project Editorial at the Center for Digital Culture in Mexico. Founded in 2014, Editorial has become a hub of creation and discussions on the digital cultural production in Mexico and in the Spanish-speaking world more broadly. The characteristics of Editorial – oscillating between its functions as a government agency under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, and its independent publisher profile – have allowed its director Mónica Nepote, and a large number of collaborators, to build a non-expert audience for digital culture topics, to educate these publics on digital literacies and, at the same time, become a center for experimentation and innovation in both publishing praxis and the querying of the book role and other bibliographic objects in the 21st Century.
