Joaquín Cuadras, a genre painter from Santiago de Cuba (XIX century)
Abstract
This paper deals with the artistic production of Joaquin Cuadras Sagarra, one of the most important representatives of painting from Santiago de Cuba during the second half of the nineteenth century. Throughout its known creation it is addressed, but fundamentally values its ranks as one of the first and Cuban genre painters. The collection and study of bibliographic material on Joaquín Cuadras was chosen as a tool for analysis, and his existing work was also located in the Museo Emilio Bacardí in Santiago de Cuba, in the National Museum of Fine Arts in our country, in other foreign collections, As well as in photographic reproductions, to obtain an integral panorama of its artistic production.
