Rivina andamanensis (Petiveriaceae): a new species from Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India

Abstract

Rivina andamanensis (Petiveriaceae), a new species from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India, is described and illustrated along with conservation status. Apparently, the new species is similar to Rivina humilis L. but strictly differs in respect to its morphology of vegetative and floral characters. A taxonomic key to the species of Rivina Mart. from India is also provided.
