Un cop creats, què? El futur dels dipòsits institucionals
Abstract
Es repassa la situació actual dels dipòsits institucional a partir d’estudis recents i de la pròpia experiència a l’Scholar’s Bank de la University of Oregon. Es comenten també les principals funcions que duen a terme els bibliotecaris respecte dels dipòsits digitals: identificar continguts, descriure’ls, formar els usuaris en la gestió dels drets d’autor, entre d’altres. Es conclou apuntant que el futur a mig termini dels dipòsits digitals és incert i que se situa, fonamentalment, en la incorporació de literatura grisa.The article provides an overview of the current situation of institutional repositories (IRs), based on recent studies and on the experience of the Scholar´s Bank at the University of Oregon. Librarians carry out different activities related to IRs and these are briefly described: identification of contents, description, training of users in copyright management, etc. In conclusion, it is unclear what the future holds for IRs, though it seems likely that it lies with the incorporation of grey literature, as well as the scientific output of researchers.
