El Potencial Discursivo De Las Categorías Gramaticales
Abstract
RESUMEN Aunque las categorías gramaticales han sido muy relevantes tanto en la tradición lingüística grecolatina, así como también en estructuralismo y en el generativismo, dichas unidades han jugado un rol escaso en los modelos de análisis del discurso. Esto, debido principalmente a que el surgimiento del interés por el estudio del discurso ha favorecido que sean otros los aspectos (sociales o cognitivos) los que se han investigado respecto de aquella unidad de lenguaje en uso, i.e., el discurso. En el presente trabajo exploramos una forma de unir dos ámbitos que histórica y lingüísticamente han estado distanciados. Luego de revisar panorámicamente el desarrollo de la teoría lingüística, de revisar conceptualmente la noción de categorías gramaticales y presentar algunos modelos discursivos, exponemos la noción de ‘potencial discursivo’ entendido como una relación directa entre la aparición de una categoría gramatical y la expresión de algunas de las categorías discursivas de los modelos presentados. Los resultados permiten observar que existen algunas categorías gramaticales que presentan un mayor potencial discursivo que otras, aún cuando esto depende del modelo discursivo seleccionado. ABSTRACT Even when the grammatical categories and the syntactical elements have been extremely relevant, both in the Greco-Latin linguistic tradition and in structuralism and generativism, the already mentioned units have played a scarce role in the models of discourse analysis. This is mainly due to the uprising of interest for the study of discourse has favored other aspects (social or cognitive) which have been researched in connection with that unit of language in use, i.e., the discourse. In the present work we explore a way to unite these two realms which have been historically and linguistically apart. After checking panoramically the development of the linguistic theory, examining conceptually the notion of grammatical categories and presenting some discursive models, we propose the notion ‘discursive potential’ understood as a direct relationship between the appearing of a grammatical category and the expression of some of the discursive categories of the models presented. The results allow us to observe that there exist some grammatical categories which present a greater discursive potential than others, even when this fact depends on the selected discursive model.
