Les nouveaux territoires et leurs noms entre projet et compétitivité : le cas des “pôles d’excellence rurale”

Abstract

The launch at the end of 2005 of the call for project “Pôle d’Excellence Rurale” by the Interministerial Delegation for the Territorial Planning and Competitiveness (DIACT) supplies a remarkable state of the “projectivity” of the French rural territories in 2006. The generated corpus indeed counts 342 files deposited during the first wave. Within the frame of the research work presented here, these were the object of a first toponymic and typological analysis. So implemented, this study investigates the matters of the mobilized territorial resources and the strategies of territorial autonomy. It allows to present at the end a first proposition of the present perceptible forms of development in the French rural territories by categorizing them according to their relation with the patrimonial resource.
