Désir individuel et sexualité conjugale
Abstract
Based on an empirical survey of 22 women, this article addresses the issue of sexual agency. It examines the way they were able to become actors of their desire within the marital relationship. The paper focuses on the links between socialization and sexuality in order to analyse the role of events in enabling these women to adopt the model of individual desire, reflecting a more individualistic than relational orientation to sexuality. The first section discusses the steps involved in constructing a sexuality that they find satisfying, the second discusses their practices within the current marital relationship, and the third focuses on the points of divergence that distinguish three paths of sexual agency.
