Non-Hodgkin lymphoma presenting with bilateral tonsillar hypertrophy: A case report
Abstract
Lymphoma is the second most common neoplasm of the head and neck after squamous cell carcinoma. Unilateral tonsillar hypertrophy arouse suspicion of malignancy and biopsy or tonsillectomy is common practice for it. But bilateral tonsillar involvement arouse suspicion minimally and considered to be due to infection. Accordingly, establishment of the diagnosis may be delayed. Bilateral tonsillar involvement is very rare in lymphomas. In this article, two non-Hodgkin lymphoma presenting with bilateral tonsillar hypertrophy is discussed.
