A series of alkyne-terminated conjugated groups were synthesized and characterized, which enrich the surface species of silicon nanoparticles (SiNPs). Subsequently, the alkyne-terminated conjugated groups were lithiated, and capped the surface of the SiNPs. After modification, both the alkyne-terminated conjugated group and the dodecyl chain can be successfully immobilized confirmed by FTIR and TGA. From the photoluminescence spectrum, the wavelength range is further broadened, and the redshift was not lost even with further 1-dodecane capping. These inspiring results shed light on the potential applications of functionalized silicon nanoparticles in multiple fields, including but not limited to electronic devices, biomarkers, etc.
