La técnica serológica del VDRL: Indicaciones y manejo en la atención primaria

Abstract

Se exponen las características generales de la técnica del VDRL (serología para sífilis). Se señalan sus indicaciones en la atención primaria de la salud. Se da respuesta a interrogantes sobre la positividad o negatividad de la prueba, y se indica la conducta a seguir cuando el médico de asistencia primaria atiende a un paciente con VDRL reactivo.The general characteristics of the VDRL technique (syphilis serology) are explained and its indications at the primary health care level are stressed. Answers are given to questions about the positivity or negativity of the test. It is defined the conduct to be followed when the primary care doctor sees a patient with reactive VDRL.
