This work presents the investigational process in the Universidad de la Amazonia that seeks, from a critical/social emphasis, to identify support and evidence to establish bioethical considerations in the frame of processes of formation of students of Veterinary and Zootechnical Medicine. Likewise, it provides tools to identify the efficient and effective mechanisms of maintaining the conditions of welfare during the learning of surgical approaches on cattle and horses, in this way guaranteeing these same conditions during professional practice. As a strategy for the approximation to the establishment of such considerations, a contextual analysis of the type of perception to appropriation of the principles, not harm and benefit, was performed in view of responsibility with animal suffering, in relation with the origin and background of the students (rural area – urban area), through the implementation of methodological strategies that motivate the bioethical reflection in the classroom and other spaces for learning.
