Abstract

The Centro di Fotoriproduzione Legatoria e Restauro of the State Archives is part of the General Directorate for Archives of the Italian Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities. Its offices are in Rome and it is involved not only in studies and experiments in the area of archive assets but also in the training of staff for the State Archives and other administrations. It is a point of reference for Archives with respect to the various questions related to the preservation of documents. A description is given of the different services provided for their storage and restorarion; mention is also made of the activities carried out by the biological, chemical and technological laboratories that led to the publication of technical and technical-scientific papers of national and international relevance.
