Accounting management in Ecuador requires more than the domain of the theoretical accounting framework (IFRS) the identification and evaluation of transactions that need a differential accounting and tax treatment, for this, a formal connection of the accounting information prepared under IFRS criteria is required, with current tax regulations. In this context, the objective of this article is to design an accounting management model for Comercial Sánchez, a retail business of staple food and complementary services, located in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. The model is based on five fundamental pillars to achieve effective management that supports strategic decision making and the achievement of business objectives. The pillars of the model are: corporate governance, management control, the accounting process, the information system and the applicable legal framework.
