An atrial fibrillation case during colonoscopy preparation
Abstract
Atrial fibrillation is a frequent arrythmia that has increased prevalence with age and resulted serious morbidities like thromboembolism and mortality. Early diagnosis and prophylaxis are crucial. Colonoscopy procedure is frequent procedure that is used for diagnosis, screening and treatment. Before this procedure, specific diet and drugs are administered for bowel emptying. Especially volume depletion and arrhythmia are considered in elderly patients. In this case report, an atrial fibrillation presentation was reported during colonoscopy.
