One of the most important effects in transmission lines (TL) is the corona effect, which is the cause of related phenomena like radio noise (RN) and audible noise (AN). The magnitude of such phenomena increment their magnitude with the increase of operating voltages, therefore rising the likelihood of affecting or interfering with human beings or equipment. It is possible that, due to the electromagnetic properties of the environment surrounding TL’s, problems of electromagnetic compatibility arise. A software (CERARI) that allows the evaluation of noise levels generated in the vicinity of the transmission lines was developed using Matlab and is presented in this paper.
