Comparison of comparative idioms in the Croatian Čakavian vernacular of Crikvenica and Croatian standard language

Abstract

This paper presents corpus of comparative idioms in the Croatian Čakavian vernacular of Crikvenica and Croatian standard language. In this comparison we analyse origins, motivation, and their equivalence in both systems. Special attention is paid to Čakavian idioms with different phraseological pictures within the same phraseological concept and those who have no equivalent in Croatian standard language.
