Symbolism and violence in art

Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the issues related to the symbolism and violence in psychoanalytic theories begining with Freudian and Kleinian hypothesis, and also explores how they relate to creative activity. The emphasis is on Kleinian hypothesis regarding aggression toward the mother’s body as engine for repair activity (art).
