In this paper, we mean to question the use of dramatic and scenic spaces to study how they serve the up and down movements of Fortune in the early Calderon’s comedia La gran Cenobia (1624-1625). If the verticality of some scenic movements clearly illustrates the political and vital trajectories of the characters, the horizontal ones, if less suggestive, after all allow some conclusions about the play’s structuration, its dynamic and its internal logic. Following the hypothesis of a play designed for corral, we mean to explore the scene when the protagonist traverses the bridge, because it does inform the entire second act.
