Development History of Cold Crucible Vitrification Technology in Russia and France

Abstract

As the most advanced vitrification technology，cold crucible has a wide application prospect. As the first countries to study the cold crucible vitrification technology，Russia and France have kept there own technical characteristics in the process of research and development，at the same time，there have also carried out continuous technological innovation and cooperation，and all achieved industrialization. This paper reviews the research and development process of cold crucible in Russia and France，and puts forward development suggestions on China’s cold crucible technology from three aspects: basic research，operational experience and application fields.
