Recrutamento e epidemia da cólera-morbo no interior da Província do Rio de Janeiro, década de 1860

Abstract

In this article our endeavor is focuses on analyzing the recruitment process in the context of an epidemic; cholera and its consequences for the capital and hinterland of the province of Rio de Janeiro. From this rese-arch, it is possible to explain how the process of recruitment for the war in a cholera epidemic context chan-ged the daily life of the cities, the province inland villages and parishes revealing an institutional carelessness with the health of the population. This variable explains the nature of recruitment fell, often under poor fre-emen and freedmen.
