PER LA BIOGRAFIA DI BENVENUTO CAMPESANI: UN'EPIGRAFE COMMEMORATIVA DI ALBERTINO MUSSATO

Abstract

L’articolo ha per oggetto un’epigrafe commemorativa del poeta e storico padovano Albertino Mussato (1261-1329) composta per il sepolcro di Benvenuto Campesani (1250/55-1323). Sulla base di una rinnovata interpretazione del testo, di cui si fornisce una nuova edizione corredata di traduzione in italiano, è stato possibile dimostrare come la morte di Benvenuto sia avvenuta nella notte fra il 3 e il 4 novembre del 1323. The article deals with a commemorative epigraph that the Paduan poet and historian Albertino Mussato (1261-1329) wrote for the sepulcher of Benvenuto Campesani (1250/55-1323). Through a novel interpretation of the epigraph, a new edition of which is provided with an Italian translation, the author proves that Campesani’s death occurred on the night of November 3-4, 1323.
