Abstract: Evaluation of Flow and Pressure Using Water Requirement Simulation on Water Distribution system in Kandangan, South Kalimantan. Certain locations in service region of clean water network pipe in Kandangan city South Kalimantan profince still experience some problems. Problems are generally due to the availability of flow and pressure at distribution system. Pattern of pressure on pipe network is one of the service indicators, which are needed especially at the peak time. Study is conducted to evaluate the problems related to the condition of distribution pipe and reservoir volume to the water requirement of existing and projection situation. Projection of water requirement is made related to the pattern of location and amount of water required according to the growth of town and its people. The approach of flow requirement is conducted through two method, estimation from mean demand and from simulation on distribution network pipe. Result of simulations indicate that at existing condition, some location is still experiencing pressure degradation at the peak time. This condition can be reduced by the improvement of network system as shown from the result of future years simulation. Reservoir with the capacity of 600 m3 can serve fluctuation of daily water requirement, but in order to support improvement plan of network system, additional boosters and reservoirs are still needed in some location. Improvement of distribution system network and proper determination of reservoir volume and location will greatly assist the improvement of flow and pressure pattern at pipe network.
