Diagnosis of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia in Fetuses and Newborns

Abstract

The article deals with an urgent problem of pediatric surgery — congenital diaphragmatic hernia (СDН) in newborns. 64 case histories of children with СDН, underwent medical treatment in State Institution «Institute of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology of National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine», were analyzed. The main criteria for prenatal diagnosis of СDН that have an effect on survival rate of fetuses and newborns with this defect were defined. Management of pregnant women, fetuses of which had different anatomical and physiological variants of СDН, was developed. Algorithm for early postnatal diagnostic of СDН and associated malformations in newborns was offered.
