DEVELOPMENT OF TOURIST EDUCATION IN RUSSIA

Abstract

Socio-political and historical background, causing tourism development in Russia, and factors which encouraged the emergence of tourism education are analyzed in this article. The authors of this article defined the steps of tourism education formation in Russia. Using the historiography method, the tourism education formation was examined. The idea of competency approach and also the formation of social competency in high education were analyzed. The authors mark the 1917 like the starting point in education development because from the first months of its existence, Soviet authority started paying great attention to tourism and excursion activity, as the possibility of ideological influence Research objective: to reveal socio-political and historical prerequisites of tourist education in Russia. Methodology of carrying out research: use of historiographic approach to a research Results: formation of tourist education in Russia is considered, development of the idea of competence-based approach in education, and formation of social competence of the higher education is analysed, the periods of development of tourist education in Russia are allocated. Practical implications: the obtained results should be applied in the educational process, in scientific research
