In this paper the internal validity of an instrument designed to discover the constraints and opportunities that influence the teamwork of faculty lecturers is presented. As a basis of organisational work and a means for knowledge creation, teamwork requires a context that promotes the effectiveness of teaching teams. Methodology The methodology used has been a non-experimental transectional correlation design to describe the relationship between the variables and measure-analyse the association between them. The instrument used is part of a wider questionnaire based on five-level Likert items. The selection criteria of the informants (n=37) have been: being a university teacher and holding a post within the university. The analysis technique used was the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS 20) statistical programme. Results Theanalysis show good internal reliability for the questionnaire’s organisational level (α=0,875 for 22 elements; α=0,881 for 19 elements ). The increase of the coefficient for 19 elements has allowed to delete three items of the questionnaire. Conclusion The validation of the section that includes the key concepts of the organisational context, allow his inclusion in the whole of the instrument built. It Will provide an useful tool to give more information with regard to the organisational learning.
