Abstract

This essay concentrates on Russian Transfurists and their journal “Transponans” (1979-1987). By means of playful, ironic and visual reworkings of pre-existing texts, the Transfurists’ postmodernist experiments destroy the authority of artistic products, thus showing Russian citizens how to think independently.
