Efeito da competição e produção de mudas de Quillaja brasiliensis (Sabão-de-soldado) em diferentes substratos

Abstract

his paper deals with the production of Quillaja brasiliensis seedlings. An assessment of germination on different substrates was test-ed: vermiculite; coconut fiber; commercial substrate; carbonized rice husk (CAC); CAC + vermiculite and coconut fiber. For the assessment of competi-tion between seedlings we sought to determine the influence of the number of seeds per cell polystyrene tray, in emergency. The experimental design was completely randomized and the means were compared by Tukey test at 5 % probability. The expanded vermiculite is a suitable substrate for the production of seedlings and recommended to use in trays, three seeds per cell and subsequently perform thinning to remove the less vigorous seed-lings.
