The Enlightenment And The Dilemmas Of The Schwärmerei

Abstract

In this article we intend to show some precedents of the discussion on the meaning of the Enlightenment (1783-1784) from some linguistic controverses around the phenomena entusiasta. So comes the need to distinguish between “Enhusiasmus” and “Schwärmerei” - talked by authors like Wieland, Herder, and Lessing – that had already been antecipated by the dilemmas inherent to auto-understanding of the project Enlightenment. During the eighties, pluralizations of meanings of the term “Schwärmerei” lead to that crisis grown around the senses of the term “Aufklärung”. We had disputing concepts as rationality and autonomia subjective.
