This essay delves into the development of modern horseback archery clubs in China. It examines the historical context, organizational structures, and characteristics of the modern horseback archery movement. The research method is mainly based on collecting and collating relevant historical literature. Through a meticulous analysis of historical documents, this study has unearthed that the emergence and growth of modern horseback archery sports were closely tied to the rise of Chinese national identity in recent times. While these clubs were established as sports organizations, their creators were mainly military and political leaders, resulting in strong nationalistic tendencies and regional disparities. Modern horseback archery sports inherited traditional culture while integrating crucial elements of Western sports, reflecting social values that embody the emergence of modern Chinese national identity.
