The paper discusses the effectiveness of methods for degassing surfaces of lead-silicate glasses by electron irradiation (treatment) in order to increase the efficiency of secondary electron emission. Changes in the properties and composition of the processed materials as a result of additional effects (heat treatment, reactions with ethyl alcohol, etc.) are revealed. Chemical compounds and elements formed as a result of impacts on the surface of lead-silicate glasses are described. The effect of sample storage on a further change in the secondary electron emission coefficient was studied.
