Sunday Nazi-Fascism. “La gemella H” by Giorgio Falco

Abstract

Giorgio Falco’s novels are marked by a constant critique of the neo capitalist world, based on his own experience as a temporary worker. Despite the different historical setting, La Gemella H also serves the same purpose. The essay offers an interpretation that highlights this theme, based on comparisons with other important novels by the same author (Pausa caffè, Condominio Oltremare, Ipotesi di una sconfitta, Flashover, Il paradosso della sopravvivenza), followed by three insights focusing on Hilde, her relationship with her twin sister Helga and finally on her father, Hans Hinner.
