The Impacts of Xinglou Tongluo Drink Combined with Clopidogrel on Cognitive Function, Cerebral Blood Circulation, and Serum Netrin-1 Level in Patients with ElderlyAcute Sschemic Stroke

Objective To investigate the impacts of Xinglou Tongluo drink combined with clopidogrel on cognitive function, cerebral blood circulation, and serum Netrin-1 level in elderly patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with acute ischemic stroke admitted to Handan Central Hospital from January 2022 to May 2023 were selected as the study subjects.They were randomly divided into an observation group(40 cases) and a control group(40 cases) using a random number table method.The control group received treatment with clopidogrel, while the observation group received treatment with Xinglou Tongluo Yin combined with clopidogrel.The clinical efficacy, cerebral blood circulation indicators [blood flow resistance index(RI), mean blood flow velocity(Vm), and vascular pulsatility index(PI)] , serum indicators [Netrin-1 and matrix metalloproteinase-9] and Neurological function [National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale(NIHSS) score] and cognitive function [Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale(MoCA) score] were compared between the two groups. Results The overall response rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05);after treatment, RI and PI decreased and Vm increased in both groups, and RI and PI in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, Vm was higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);after treatment, Netrin-1 increased and MMP-9 decreased in both groups, and Netrin-1 was higher and MMP-9 was lower in the observation group than in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);after treatment, NIHSS score decreased and MoCA score increased in both groups, and the NIHSS score in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, MoCA score was higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Xinglou Tongluo drink combined with clopidogrel can effectively improve cognitive function and serum Netrin-1 level in elderly patients with acute ischemic stroke, and improve cerebral blood circulation.
