Between 1864 and 1870, Brazil participated in the largest armed conflict in the history of South America: The Triple Alliance war against Paraguay. The large number of casualties in this war demanded from the Brazilian Army and Brazilian Navy an effort to post in the theater of operations an effective of doctors, nurses and pharmacists. This article presents the actions of the Army Health Corps during the Triple Alliance War.
