GRAMSCI E OS ESTUDOS CULTURAIS: uma abordagem teórica para além da reprodução ideológica na comunicação

Abstract

This study approaches the approximations between Communication Theories, with emphasis on Cultural Studies, and Antonio Gramsci’s formulations on culture are discussed. As a starting point, a synthesis of the communicational thought of administrative tendency, base of the quantitative studies and of a static vision of the social system. Next, it highlights the theoretical contributions that break with the static model of investigation of the effects of communication in mass society. Critical Theory, Cultural Studies, and Gramsci’s approach to culture incorporate new assumptions to understand communication beyond ideological reproduction.
