Assuming that the ''implicit text'' which refers to the Colombian philosopher Nicolás Gómez Dávila in his escolios consists of the books in his library, and that before all the Bogotanian thinker was a reader, we intend to highlight the main axes of his philosophical inspiration. From the intertext – the quotes – and the metatext (Genette) – the commentaries – we bring to light the gomezdavilian extratext, that is to say ''the intense readings made by the philosopher who contributed decisively to constitute the hidden thread of his text'' to further the Montinari purpose applied to Friedrich Nietzsche’s library and which serves us as research model. In this first study of Gómez Dávila library dedicated to his political philosophy we have identified six currents in accordance with the three most important languages in the library and the three most represented centuries.
