UMA CRUZADA CONTRA A TUBERCULOSE EM SALVADOR (1930 A 1950).
Abstract
This article seeks to follow the discussions about tuberculosis made by the Bahian physician José Silveira, in the 1930s and 1950s, a period that corresponds to the appearance of his first publications on this disease until the appearance of antibiotic chemotherapy. The idea is to observe the presence of so-called social issues in their speeches through their participation in congresses and conferences, such as the First Regional Congress of Medicine (1935), the First Norist Conference on Tisiology (1938), the First and Second National Congresses of Tuberculosis, run in 1939 and 1941 respectively and the Third Nortist Conference on Tisiology (1953).
