In this paper we present the methodology applied to the study of archaeological materials from late prehispanic and early colonial populations in Santiago plain that do not present any contextual associated data. This methodological develop-ment, from an ethnoarchaeological perspective, alternative and complementary to other analysis, is based on the study of ethnological sources and records from Chaco region (southern area). Considering the analyzed documentation (jesuitical, researches from the 20th century and recent anthropological and ethnographical studies) and the addressed ethnographic objects from collections, we analyze its applicability as a theoretical framework observing different cases of study. Among them, archaeological expectations are presented related to possible social practices (uses and contexts) involving bone ob-jects such as aerophones, spearheads and punzones. The identification of these practices and the dialectical integration of different information corpuses obtained allowed us to expand the interpretative perspective of the archaeological data.
