Legal Knowledge for Building Immunity and Awareness in Social Media Usage of Udon Thani Youth

Abstract

In this study the researcher aimed to develop a procedure of the legal knowledge platform and achievement for building immunity and awareness in social media usage of Udonthani youth. Youths between the ages of 17 and 18 were selected by simple random sampling. 120 students were invited to participate in this study. The research instruments were. - 1) the legal knowledge platform and procedure for building immunity and awareness in social media usage, and 2) a pretest-posttest with the difficulty level between 0.20 and 0.55, the discriminant power level between 0.25 and 0.50and the confidence level of 0.7. The statistical tools used for this study were percentage, average, standard deviation, paired sample t-test and Willcoxon signed ranks test.The study result showed the following. 1) the legal knowledge platform and procedure for building immunity and awareness in social media usage has the level of appropriateness for usage is “High” or 68.30%, the clear content in the “High” level or 71.90%, and the possibility for practical usage witnesses “High” level or 51% 2) after training the youths from 3 district schools (Udon Phichairakpittaya School, Nong Han Wittaya School and Phenpittayakom School) to better understand, particularly the legal terms relating to cyber bullying and phishing by social media achieved scores that 32.5%, 33.8%, and 20% higher, respectively, than before the training
