Faced by a growing debate on the needed reestablishment of ethics in our criminal justice system, we discuss the importance of ethics in the Judiciary Police affairs. The paper is divided into three sections. Firstly, we introduce the concepts of ethics, as well as the moral principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Secondly, we discuss the Civil Police work by describing the whole procedure chain, i.e., from the crime time up to the court trial. At last, we present a few proposals already in development regarding ethics, such as those promoted by the "Brazilian-European Conference for Corruption Prevention".
