O Arquivo da Casa da Moeda de Lisboa: seu interesse para a história do Brasil colonial, 1686-1822

Abstract

Since the end of the XVIIth century, with the arrival in Portugal of the gold from the Brazilian mines, the Lisbon Mint was charged to receive that gold and buy it from its legitimate owners and also to collect the 1% tax. The Mint’s Historical Archive reflects these functions through several of its series of documents.
