Abstract

The article is devoted to initial stage of market transformations in the Ukrainian mining and steel industry. There is examination of Ukrainian political elites’ ideological foundations of industrial development strategy, including economic integralist and autocracy approaches. The article also describes technological and economic state of the Ukrainian metallurgy in the 1990s, which considerably complicated implementation of reforms in industry.
